When girls used to come to the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, there was not much space for them to roam + create. Teamed w/ rel8 design, the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida created its headquarters with girls in mind. rel8 led a local team of Girl Scouts [ages ranging from 7-17] developing the project from design concepts thru construction... developing five [5] key areas reflecting the core values of scouting. These included the science, technology, engineering + math [STEM] nook; healthy living; community; Yes, cookies; there is even an indoor campsite. Winner of the Girl Scouts USA National Award... The retail store downstairs is sectioned off colorfully to designate each level of girl scouting... and the Girl Scouts mission displayed and visible from anywhere in the building. The vibe upstairs is more professional but maintains Girl Scout touches... featuring conference rooms + executive / administrative offices with large windows overlooking the girls’ area below.
